Event Listing Policy

USA Dance Chapter 6114 will strive to list appropriate dance-related activities on our web-based calendar and link-to, like, share, and announce these events, as time and resources permit, on our Facebook page.  Obviously, all dance activities in the North Alabama area cannot be listed or tracked.  There are too many activities for the resources that we have.  As best we can, we will try to list the following events:

  • USA Dance activities, and related activities, for our chapter and other regional chapters.
  • Other activities in which our chapter participates (e.g. manning a booth at a health & fitness fair).
  • Dances and workshop events occuring in the North Alabama area that may appeal to our membership and friends, such as Ballroom, Salsa, and West Coast activities.  We specifically exclude Country & Western and Line Dancing events unless a specific event has a Ballroom appeal.
  • Benefit fundraisers that may appeal to our members and friends.
  • We do not have space or energy to list and track area dance classes and will not attempt to list these unless a class is a one-time event like a workshop or is a free recurring activity that might appeal to our members and friends.  However, we will try to list on our website any area venues that offer dance classes if requested.

The mission of our USA Dance chapter is to promote ballroom dancing for all age groups within our community.  With respect to postings for area dance studio events, we try to not promote, prefer, or recommend the activities of one studio over those of another studio.

Our sources for event happenings are email announcements that we receive at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , announcements that we see posted on Facebook, and announcements posted on other Internet sites that we visit.  The most reliable way of getting information to us about an event is through email.  We usually only post events that are occurring within the next couple of months.

If any errors or omissions are noted on our website calendar, please send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will attempt to address the issue.
